Welcome to 4NEWSFANS! This a new community dedicated to Johnny's group NEWS.

By fans agreement it was thought that a new place for NEWS fandom was needed. A more fresh, active and moderated community where all their fans could have a good time together and somehow get back the good memories of a participative LJ community. We encourage you to post your media, share your projects and just talk about the group here. It'll be really nice if we could gather all these things here so that fans could easily find what they're looking for.

4NEWSFANS community is made by and for fans. We'll accept any suggestion to create a better place and we expect a lot of participation and involvement from the members to be able to improve the site. Join the community and enjoy your stay!

❈ Rules ❈

✔ All entries must be related to NEWS group, sub-unit Tegomass or any of the members individually.
✔ Respect both NEWS members and fellow fans. No bashing or flamming of any of them. No harassment of any kind either please.
✔ All the official media (downloads of singles, albums, DVDs, TV appearances and scans) must be friends-locked. Johnny’s net videos and Johnny’s jwebs are not allowed in this community.
✔ Re-posting/re-uploading is only allowed if you get the permission from the original source. Make sure to get the permission from the owners and provide full credits to them.
✔ Tag your posts appropriately. You can find a full list with tags in the sidebar of the community page. Also look through the tags first before posting.
✔ Make use of the Masterposts and Request posts if you can’t find something. All requests must be made in the most recent Request post. Media for download that are contributed to the community will be added to the Download Masterpost
✔ External links to friends-locked posts are not allowed. You can lock them after a minimum of 5 days.
✔ Use LJ-cuts when posting large images, lengthy word or graphics posts, gifs of any size and embedded videos.
✔ Always provide official and reliable sources for any news and information (such as Johnny’s net)
✔ English is the preferred language when posting. Please use it as much as possible.
✔ Please watch out for your behaviour. Do not post anything that will incite drama within the community. No trolling or spam either.

► NEWS ◄
2003–2006: Debut and departure of members
➸ 2003: NEWS was formed by Johnny Kitagawa as a nine-member group under the label Johnny's Entertainment. They released a promotional single "NEWS Nippon", which was used for the World Cup of Volleyball Championship.

➸ 2004: Takahiro Moriuchi left the group and the remaining eight members released their debut single: "Kibou: Yell" which debuted atop the Oricon charts.

➸ 2005: NEWS lost another member: Uchi Hiroki and released their fourth new single "Teppen".

➸ 2006: The group was reduced to six members when Hironori Kusano was suspended indefinitely. NEWS released their fifth single "Sayaendou/Hadashi no Cinderella". Months later the group went on hiatus

2007–2010: NEWS' 6-Member Comeback
➸ 2007: After their hiatus, the six remaining members came back and released a new single "Hoshi wo Mezashite". They simultaneously released their seventh single, "Weeeek" and their second album, Pacific. Both releases debut atop of their respective charts.

➸ 2008: They released their eighth number-one single, "Taiyou no Namida", and two more number-one singles, "Summer Time" and "Happy Birthday" before releasing their third studio album "Color".

➸ 2009: NEWS released their new single, "Koi no ABO. It became their 11th number-one single.

➸ 2010: Their 12th number-one single titled "Sakura Girl" was released and at the “LIVE! LIVE! LIVE! NEWS DOME PARTY 2010“ concert at Tokyo Dome, it was announced that NEWS would be releasing their 13th single, “Fighting Man"

2011 : Becoming a quartet
NEWS became a quartet following the departures of Ryo Nishikido and Tomohisa Yamashita. The group now consists of Keiichiro Koyama, Shigeaki Kato, Takahisa Masuda and Yuya Tegoshi

2012 : NEWS' 4-Member Comeback
➸ NEWS were officially back and they released their first compilation album, "NEWS BEST". Fans voted for the songs.

➸ They released "Chankapana", their first single as a quartet. It became #1 on Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.

➸ Their 15th single was World Quest/Popokon Pekorya. "World Quest" was used as the image song for TOYOTA presents FIFA World Cup Japan 2012 and "Pokopon Pekorya" was used as the theme song for the drama Hana no Zubora Meshi, starring Kato Shigeaki.

2013 - 2014 NEWS 10th Anniversary and ongoing projects
➸ 2013: After releasing their 6th album titled "NEWS" they had a nationwide tour during summer and celebrated their 10th Anniversary with their fans in Tokyo Dome where they held a concert combined with a special event.

➸ 2014: They released their 16th single "ONE -for the win-", used as the image song of the NTV's broadcast of 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP BRAZIL 2014.

2015: NEWS starts getting recognition

➸ The start of the New Year came with the release of a new single KAGUYA, with the collaboration of then renowned photographer/director Ninagawa Mika.

➸ Few days after the release, it was announced that NEWS was going to release their 7th album titled "WHITE" and hold a concert tour in spring.

➸ Right after they released another single Chumu Chumu in summer, followed by their first DVD single in inter "Yonjuushi" which serves as the OP theme for the anime "Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo R".

2016: NEWS Year

➸ Their 20th single was out soon after the start of the new year, which was a double A single "Hikari no Shizuku/ Touch",

➸ They released their 8th album "QUARTETTO" and a new concert tour in spring.

➸ NEWS got 3 regular TV shows for the first time in their history: Shounen Club Premium, Hen Labo, and NEWS na Futari (Koyashige). A new single "Koi wo Shiranai Kimi e" (Shige's drama "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo"' ending theme) was announced for summer,

➸ They were the main personalities for 2016's 24hrTV.

2017: NEWS aim for new challenges

➸ On late december of 2016 NEWS announced a new more mature single for early 2017 "EMMA", which is the opening theme of Shige's latest TV drama "Kirawareru Yuki". Also, on 1st Janunary they announced a new concert tour for Spring name "NEVERLAND" along with a new album with the same title.
